A three hour hike tracing the bald spine of Snake Mtn up to the pointed peak on the left. Crisp, clear skies on the journey up. We sat on the peak and looked the clouds in the eye at a bit under 6,000 ft- East Coast style. Watched a storm form in a cloud that crested the ridge line. Wind and sideways rain on the way down- the rocky spine had little tree coverage.
Best friends and amazing views. Can't believe this is our 'backyard' in North Carolina.
After this weekend, the world changed here in Boone. What an incredible end to a red autumns explosion. Now we're left with the tight and cleanness of winter.
I can never never believe how blessed we are to have this to go play on, and that we are healthy enough to enjoy it.
