For the longest time, winter didn’t happen. The leaves changed color on time. They fell from their branches and crunched beneath our feet on time. And for the longest time, the trees stood bare and sterile. We waited and waited, but winter just never happened.
At first, it was strange. Then, incredible. Dry roads, gloveless base miles, no terrible decisions between using biology or statistics book as a front wheel trainer stand.
But now, the transition to a wet, cold February has just been.... gross. I forgot what real cold feels like. And now, sitting at my computer, twitchy on six cups of coffee and running out of ways to procrastinate riding indoors, I guess it’s time to finally update this thing.
Our team camp in January was amazing. I feel so honored and lucky for the opportunity to ride for No Opportunity Wasted pro womens cycling team this year. The whole team is awesome- fun, friendly, and total badasses on their bikes. I can’t wait to start racing! Oh, and did I mention team camp was in Bermuda? BERMUDA! The water really is turquoise! I’m so grateful to have had that experience and can’t wait for all the adventures to come. It’s going to be a great year.
